ANGOLA – Market of Opportunities
The António Vilar & Associados Law Office has judicially coordinated the seminar “ANGOLA – Market of Opportunities”, which took place in Lisbon on April 11th and in Oporto on April 13th. Organized by the Portuguese-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it counted with the presence of António Vilar and Amílcar Fernandes, Angolan lawyer of the office, with interventions in the seminar in two occasions. In this event were also present the Ambassador António Monteiro, José Neto, the National Director of Road Transport, Victor de Carvalho, Director of the Angolan Port Institute, and Hélder José, From de Angolan Provincial Institute.
On his intervention, António Vilar mentioned the importance of investing in Angola, as it is a country which represents an excellent opportunity for the Portuguese businessmen, mainly because it is a country in fast development where much was made but where much still needs to be done. After the 27 years of destruction caused by the Civil War, Angola finds itself in peace in almost a decade, and it is also growing rapidly, thanks to many foreign companies which believe in that country.
In his intervention, Amílcar Fernandes, Angolan lawyer of the António Vilar & Associados Law Office, has mentioned ways of approaching the Angolan market, in what concerns the constitution of partnerships, branch offices, representation offices and commercial partnerships.
Hélder José has mentioned the challenges of the urban planning in Luanda, namely the underground, the road transport and the rail transport.
The collective shipping of Luanda was the subject area approached by Victor de Carvalho, since this is a need which will allow the relieving of congestion in the city and will increase the life quality, as well as it will afford other several advantages, such as employment.
The mobility in Angola remained up to José Neto, which made clear that there is an entire network of road, rail, sea, river and air transports which require the development of capable infrastructures.
This way we can conclude that this meeting has earned the particular interest of the Angolan in the goods and services, namely in the fields of transportation, energy, technology and human resources with know-how.
Being Angola a market of opportunities, European companies can and should include it in its investment and expansion plan, has they have the competence to answer to the needs of this country.
